COWBOY PRIDE MARCHING BAND CAMP STARTS SOON!

The time is nearly here! The 2021 Cowboy Pride Marching Band season is about to begin! Our season always begins with BAND CAMP! Ideally we would love to actually go to a camp where we could have the student’s complete focus, 3 nutritious meals each day, some cooler weather, and the esprit de corps that comes with travel. As logistically and financially that is not currently possible we are doing our best to recreate this “camp” experience at school.

FULL BAND CAMP Monday July 26th-Friday July 30th 8:00 AM-8:00 PM

WHY SO LONG? Well there are multiple reasons for this- and it is not as crazy as it sounds. We balance marching outdoors with working on music, team building, meals, and developing the attitudeĀ of a champion; much of which is done indoors. Remember that we are re-creating a 24/day camp experience at school so the activities take up the waking hours of the day. This time allows us to lay the foundation that we need to have a strong and meaningful season. Lastly we want the students to be prepared for anything the season might throw at them. The longest day we will have will be festivals- which sometimes can be up to a 12 hour day. When we help kids make it through band camp they can make it through anything the season will throw at them. They also learn some valuable lessons about hard work and perseverance!

WHAT DO I NEED

  1. Shorts
  2. Athletic shoes (no flip flops, sandals, skate shoes- tennis shoes are best)
  3. Hat
  4. Sunglasses/Sunscreen
  5. ONE GALLON of water (the $1 water from the grocery store is fine)
  6. $10 for the week for food (if you cannot do that right now- no worries we will have some fundraising opportunities later)

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW! What does that even mean? To Reap is to harvest and Sow is to plant so you can only harvest what you plant! You will get out of band camp what you put into it. A good attitude and willing spirit will lead you to the success and life lessons that we have designed the experience for. Complaining and not putting in your best effort will make that much more difficult.

SEE YOU AT CAMP (p.s. bring a friend!)- Mr. Pierson and Mr. Jensen!
